Project Complete

Two months ago when mom fell, we were all devastated and our hearts broke for mom (Grandma Carol) to have to go through another trauma in her life. But now she is home and on to the next step of her recovery - learning to deal with even the smallest day to day tasks that are still a little difficult for her. She has a long way to go for a full recovery, but she is improving a little each day and working hard. One of the biggest battles we fight right now is that she is terrified to walk without holding onto something. Hopefully time and blessings from a loving Heavenly Father will comfort her and remove that fear from her mind. Please still remember her in your prayers. Anyone reading this post may be tired of seeing pictures of her house, but after another weekend in St George (3 days) with Karen, our project is complete. (I had my camera on some weird setting and didn't realize it until after I got home, so I feel bad about the quality of these pictures, but I want to post these for my benefit if for no one else) When Steven decided that now was the time to move forward with repairs & upgrades while mom was laid up, the task seemed a little more than over-whelming & daunting; but it has all come together and now mom has a beautiful, warm & cozy, newly remodeled home. She is absolutely thrilled and very emotional. It has taken a lot of hard work by so many people. It couldn't have happened without everyone's help. I am so glad we have a family that is willing to work together to accomplish something this big. Dad would be smiling - we are taking care of mom and that is what we promised him before he left us.

Here are some of the finished rooms - below the new spare bedroom. You can't tell from these two pictures, but it is all done in blue.

Mom's bedroom -

Front guest room -

Main bathroom -

Family Room - Living Room - mom cried when we got dad's eagles back up. We tried to have an eagle in every room and I think we accomplished that.

It is hard in some ways to have things different, but the feelings there are still the same. I feel so much love and comfort being in mom and dad's home. All the grandkids need to try and make a trip there - grandma would love to show off her new home. She couldn't quit smiling - in between the tears, of course!
