We got a phone call from Mark at 2:30 am on Easter Sunday, that little Aubrei was in the hospital. We knew on Saturday afternoon that she was sick, but she got much worse later in the night. With a temperature of 105, she starting having seizures and they rushed her to the emergency room, where she was later admitted. They put an IV in her (after 6 tries to find a vein) and they did a spinal tap to check for spinal meningitis. Thankfully, she did not have it, but Mark & JaLee spent a very scary night worrying about their precious daughter and watching her suffer so much. When the fever broke about 5:00 am, she was finally able to sleep. Kirk & I went up to the hospital at 7:30 to spell JaLee off long enough for her to go see their boys wake up to Easter bunny surprises. The nurses came to wake Aubrei up for more medication while JaLee was gone and she was very distraught to be in a strange place without her mommy or daddy, and to be poked and prodded once again. The only one she would have anything to do with was Grandpa Kirk - she snuggled right up to him and he rocked her for over an hour. She is such a precious baby. Lots of prayers were said, and by noon on Sunday, they let her go home. We are still very concerned about her, but hoping that she is over the worst.
