Not a Good Idea

Kirk won't be happy with this post, but I have to tell it anyway... His last weekend didn't have a great start on Friday night. It was after dark when he pulled into the yard and trying to be observant of our City's truck parking ordinance, he decided to back into his designated parking area. This is really very tricky and takes some pretty tight maneuvering to get it back there and that is in broad daylight. He has to take up the whole road and comes precariously close to the ditch across the street in order to get straight enough to back in. Well, with the recent storms, the side of the road was very slick and as his front end started sliding toward the ditch, it was either give it some gas in reverse or go in the ditch. Unfortunately, the gate and power pole were sort of in the way. CRUNCH!! He was not happy, to say the least. New gate $120 - catching him fixing it on camera - priceless!! He did a great job, though, and now agrees that he'll just have to park on the street at night and risk a ticket from our local police department; or in our driveway.
